Project Feature: City of Hope

Our latest project feature is the Hope Plaza Building at the City of Hope in Duarte, California which is known as the “New Face of Hope in Cancer Care”. In October 2018, the City of Duarte adopted the City of Hope Specific Plan, laying out a 20‑year roadmap to transform the 110‑acre Duarte campus with about 1,426,000 sq ft of new development.

Hope Plaza Signature Outpatient Tower is the main component of the plaza’s expansion. The eight‑story, 350,000 sq-ft outpatient center officially opened in May 2025 as part of a broader $1 billion master campus modernization initiative. The initiative replaces four older buildings, consolidating outpatient services into one location and increases capacity by 69%.

Designed by Executive Architect CO Architects and Associate Architect EwingCole, Hope Plaza elevates the healthcare environment with thoughtful design and impactful architectural gestures. Sentech Architectural Systems designed, engineered, manufactured and supplied all materials for the soaring 122-foot long by 18-foot wide structural glass entrance canopy,  four (4) structural glass bridge guardrails, four (4) structural glass guardrails and a guardrail gate. In total, Sentech’s structural glass scope totals approximately 4,500 square feet. The canopy serves to welcome patients and visitors alike, while two 80-ft long pedestrian bridges span busy campus streets, creating a dramatic gateway and vital connection within the reimagined campus. City of Hope, one of the top cancer centers in the United States has combined their innovation in research, safety and quality of care with excellence in architectural design, aesthetic and execution.
