The AIA award-winning Edward A. Brennan Entry Pavilion, a dramatic three-story entrance way linking the new hospital to existing buildings, serves as Rush University’s new front door. The terrarium is encased in a display that pays tribute to those who have made Rush an extraordinary place of healing, showcasing an open-air cone-shaped glass terrarium that pierces the ceiling, infusing the lobby with natural light and illuminating the landscape open to the elements above. The resulting structure brings the outside in and exemplifies advances in structural glass design technology.
